The Outlaws Motorcycle Club was spawned in Illinois in 1935 and members sport a “skull and crossed pistons” logo on clothing.

It now has 275 chapters in 23 countries.

The rivalry between Outlaws and Hells Angels has frequently spilled into violence.

On August 12, 2007, Hells Angel Gerry Tobin, a Canadian living in London, was shot dead while returning from the Bulldog Bash festival near Long Marston, Warwickshire.

In November, 2008, seven Outlaws were convicted of his murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.

In the same year, rival clubs clashed at Birmingham Airport

Four Outlaw members and three Hells Angels were imprisoned for six years each. Increased security at the court during the trial cost around £1 million.

Membership in the Outlaws is limited to men who own American-made motorcycles of a particular size, although in Europe motorcycles from any country are allowed so long as they are in the chopper style.
