In June I got a brilliant deal, a steal, on a LCi F20 M135i that I couldn't say no to. It had R80k worth of factory extra's and was 3 weeks old with 2300km's on the clock. I got it for R95k less than price value. Before I took delivery I had an additional R25k worth of the following M Performance accessories fitted:
exhaust and carbon tips,
side vinyl and lip,
black grills,
alcantara leather and carbon interior trim.
Then I had the BMW Repair Centre gloss black the grey trimmings on the mirror covers and front bumper.
The aftermarket accessories is the carbon roof spoiler and the Maxton Design gloss black front lip.
I was originally planning to do a Ceramic paint protection and protective film in the front and the edge of the doors which was gonna cost about R20k.
In Dec I saw one of the local BMW dealerships in Cape Town have one of their F20's liquid dipped in the new Individual green and queried where they had it done.
I contacted Dip My Ride and got a quote for R15k then decided to go this route.
I never liked vinyl wrap because over time it'll start bubbling, peeling and fade.
I decided to be different and do a non BMW colour. What came to mind was the custom yellow (Speed Yellow, a Porsche/Aston Martin yellow) that BMW in Abu Dhabi did for a customer on his M4. I went on Google images to see if a F20 M135i and M140i has done it and saw this one:
I also got them to gloss black the wheels and diffuser.
BEFORE the dip:
Excuse the dirty mat
AFTER:
Want your opinion of the color of the side lips... When the car was white it was color coded white (see before pics) to be more visible. Now it's gloss black to go with the gloss black front lip but the car looks higher now and it looks hidden.
I think it should be yellow to make it stand out but it wont go with the flow with the front lip
