If you were looking for the right time to head to Singaporefor its food, non-stop big-city pace,, or strategic location as a hub for Southeast Asian travel—you’re in luck. The Points Guy has spotted flight deals from Los Angeles, Chicago, and Newark to Singapore starting at $600 round-trip, with just a single stop in between.

Book dates between September and March (minus the Christmas holiday period) through Star Alliance members like United, ANA, Air China, and Singapore Airlines to get the best bang for your buck. On Google Flights, we found a flight from Los Angeles to Singapore for $606 round-trip on Air China in October, with a stop in Beijing, and a $652 round-trip flight from Chicago to Singapore in September, through ANA and United, with a layover in Tokyo. Singapore Airlines is also launching a non-stop flight from San Francisco on October 23 on its jet lag-ending Airbus A350, which is also currently on sale for $649 round-trip, a play that'll put them in direct competition with United’s new route from San Francisco to Singapore on the 787 Dreamliner.

If we’re playing favorites (and we do, occasionally), the national carrier of Singapore nearly always comes out on top: In fact, it’s been voted the best international airline for 27 of the last 28 years of our Readers Choice Awards, essentially cementing its status as airline royalty. Now, with fares like this, loyal customers have even more reason to love the airline. When in Singapore, you should spend as much time as possible exploring the hawker centers and the museums its so famous for—but on your way out, don't be afraid of arriving too early at Changi International Airport, also consistently ranked number one among our readers, where a four-story slide and delicious snacking options sweeten what can otherwise be a bleary-eyed, boring routine.
