I am currently at Google (Mountain View) as a Principal Scientist in the Machine Intelligence group.
Through January 2017, I was a Professor in the Department of Computer Science, University of Toronto and a member of Artificial Intelligence Group. My current research efforts focus on various aspects of decision making under uncertainty: preference elicitation, mechanism design, game theory and multiagent decision processes, economic models, social choice, computational advertising, Markov decision processes, reinforcement learning and probabilistic inference. In a past research life, I spent quite a bit of time working in the areas of knowledge representation, belief revision, default reasoning, and philosophical logic. See a brief academic bio for more details.
