ONLINE retailers Matalan Direct are hitting Scots with sky-high delivery charges – after classing most areas of the country “remote”.
The firm are charging customers in the Dundee, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness and Paisley postcode areas £108 to deliver medium to large-sized goods.
And even Edinburgh and Glasgow fall into their “remote area 2” category alongside Dumfries and Galloway, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, Falkirk and Fife. Customers in those regions are being charged £72.
The company website says their normal charges for mainland Britain are £14.99 but that surcharges may apply for “some remote areas”.
