A Database Gateway to Several Specialized Databases
- This is a fully functional prototype. The backend is SQL Server 7.0 with 35 tables. The MS Access client has 33 forms and sub-forms.
- The database contains location information, and links to specialized databases within the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation.
- While I was still on this project I created the beginnings of an ASP Web site which was to be the production client.
The following form allows the entry of decimal latitude and longitude, or the entry and conversion of DMS latitude and longitude, when creating a new site. On clicking Continue, The application finds existing sites within the radius chosen on the form. The user has the choice of continuing to create a new site in the database, or selecting an existing entry as being the same location.
This is the table/relationship diagram for the database.
