Colt 1849 pocket revolver converted to rimfire

This is a rare Colt 1849 pocket revolver that was converted from percussion to .31 rimfire. The conversion was done as a way of utilizing existing guns to chamber the then new metallic cartridge. This Colt has matching numbers with the correct address, patent and calibre markings. Note the frame still has the hole below the barrel where the loading rod would have fitted when it was original manufactured as a percussion revolver. It has a 4 inch barrel, brass pistol grip and trigger guard and Walnut grips. Rarely seen in the UK a genuine Colt conversion. The action does require some attention. The cylinder arm requires replacing or repairing and is reflected in the price. Once fixed it was then cock and dry fire correctly.

Chambered in .31 Rimfire (obsolete calibre) this revolver can be owned in its live form without any form of license. It is being sold as a collectors piece only.
