Yes, a café that caters to humans, and cats.
Saturday, Oakland, California was home to an historic moment in United States history: The very first cat café on American soil opened. That's right — after years of rumors that such cat-centric establishments would open, it's finally happened.
Cat Town Café will focus on both allowing cat-lovers to canoodle with their feline friends as well as helping the adoption efforts in the community. Basically, Cat Town Café will be part animal rescue, part hangout and regular coffee shop, and part potential health department nightmare (but don't worry — they cafe's owners have separated the official Cat Zone from the cafe section, in order to adhere to all regulations).

Cat Town will also give back to the community by sourcing their food only from local companies like Bicycle Coffee. But perhaps the best part is the pay-to-cuddle system the café has enacted — visitors can prepay with a $10 donation for an hour of cozy kitty hang time with the adoptable animals. That's a way better way to spend your lunch hour than at the gym, don't you think?
