What I also like is how when you get outside of most English-speaking countries (and probably much of Europe, too) you start to see people naming their children according to what the name means. Other than looking it up online later in life, most people have no idea what their name means.

It just seems to be more important to other cultures than it is for our own

... there was a ditzy club-hoppy bimbo-chick in the room next to me (her reputation preceded her, it was a small city) and she named her twin boys Zeke and Zak <Zig and Zag?>

Met a lady on a bus whose daughter just had twins and named them
Julian and Julia. She seemed a bit concerned that both would end up
with the same nickname. I suggested they could call Julia; Lea or maybe they
could call Julian; Ian.

Who knows!

By the time they got to college, they were pretty used to all the lame gags, jokes, comments and such. As I said, they were charming young women then, and as far as I know, are charming older women now.

if they're girls. David and Mark if they're boys. Or any other names that are totally different from each other. That way, the twins can more easily think of themselves as individuals instead of copies of one another. If I'd had twins, I wouldn't have dressed them alike either.

After Pete died I had to get Repeat a buddy and that one I named Damnit only because he (or she - who knows) escaped when I was trying to put him (or her) into the pen and I yelled 'Get back here Damnit!' So the name kinda stuck.
