GOOD BUT SITS LOW & WATCH INSTALLATION
Mixed review. We are really pleased with the design. it looks good and is simple to operate. Some reviews have said it is loud- it is quite loud, but it moves a large volume of air so you have a choice, we would rather have the smells out. It sits really low - ridiculously so. We raised the supports in the loft space and adapted it so it isn't below head height, using only one of the two stainless steel sleeves - otherwise for a freestanding hood it will look odd and get in the way. Be very careful if you install yourself - there are 8 small screws which hold the frame together. the two parts of the frame were held together only by paint and need the screws adding. The instructions are tiny & confusing pictures, and pretty useless, as we found to our cost! So, a good looking and efficient contemporary feature, but unless you are 4 feet tall it will sit too low without some adaptation, and the fitting needs careful study and preparation. if you don't like DIY and aren't too competent with load bearing supports, get something else.

Stay away
I've just bought this hood and as the other reviewers say the maximum height is way too low. I keep head butting the glass whilst cooking. Also it's very noisy. A terrible design.

Avoid
As stated by other reviewers, the minimum height is too big, resulting in our kitchen fitter having to cut it down with an angle grinder. Although it now meets minimum distance requirements, he didn't cut enough off, so it is still too low and intrusive whilst cooking.

Good value
I too thought this was too big. In fact I packed it back up ready to return. However, after second thoughts I managed to cut down the frame and cowl with ease using angle grinder with Inox disc. This was so easy, and it's the first time I've ever cut metal. Only thing I've marked down for is not coming with any carbon filters although they are cheap and readily available. For the price this is excellent and it's worth every penny, and some. Would buy again.

Impossible to install
Worst island hood I have ever seen. The instructions are the tiniest pictures with no written instruction. The hood cowl cannot be installed even in its smallest size without exceeding the minimum distance to comply with gas/electric regulations. My husband and electrician had to take the whole cowl structure apart and cut everything down to make it comply. One to avoid unless you have extensive steel/tin working tools and experience!!
