Significant Upgrade to old Ni-Cd 18V models
Unfortunately my old 18V Ni-Cd battery DeWalt saw stopped working as struggled half way through cutting 18mm OSB panels. I have other DeWalt XR tools and batteries so decided to keep to the same system though more costly than other brands. B&Q was cheapest price by far whilst on offer for about 115. Ordered and collected on the same day, so could continue my job. Glad I went for this model as it is a Significant Upgrade to old Ni-Cd 18V models. It cut the remaining 18mm OSB with ease. The only difference which may take a little getting used to is the blade is handed the opposite side, i.e. LHS vs RHS, which only became apparent on first use. However didn't affect me as I've got used to right handed tools despite being left handed. But worth checking in-store to see how it feels, and to take extra caution whilst getting used to the opposite 'handedness'!

Low battery life
Of all my Dewalt tools I own this saw has been my least favorite. The biggest issue have with this saw iOS that it drains my battery very quickly. I can only get a few cuts before the saw starts to slow down. I am also using the correct battery size for this saw. Other than that when it is fully charged it has good power and can make good cuts.

Great product but there is a But!
Ok so the product is great. Does what it should. I bought this as BARE and knew I had to buy the battery. What they don’t do, is tell you that you also need to buy the battery charger. Which as it turns out B&Q do not sell in store! So you can buy the saw and battery but nothing to charge it with. Don’t be fooled in to buying the battery from them at £80 as they have market place sellers on their own site offering battery and charger delivered for less than £80 which in my view is a joke. B&Q should Be monitoring things like this so its customers are not diverted away from store to but the extra bits. I got a refund on the battery and bought a complete battery and charger off Amazon for £68 delivered. Great for me but a customer lost by B&Q which is mental.

I just found out about DeWalt’s tool registration when I bought my newest tool, so now I’m coming back to review the great stuff I’ve had! This saw is amazing! I do Class 8 truck and bus maintenance as well as RVs. This saw was a purchase I have never regretted. It has floored many buses over the years cutting 3/4 plywood for hours on end without issue. The biggest complaint is that in order for this to really work you have to use the 5 AG battery. I bought it as a bare tool and instantly realized I needed those. I wish I could say I babied it, but it rides around in a service truck most of the time, its been left out, dropped, knocked off of tables and dropped off a 12’3” roof without damage. It has crossed over and done many RV repairs and never missed. If it ever quits I will absolutely buy a new one - and take better care of it thr next go around.
