Here are the top selling cookbooks of the year so far (well actually through July 7). Just like last year, perennial favorite Ina Garten's Barefoot Contessa Foolproof leads the pack with 114,951 copies sold so far. Fellow television food person Bobby Deen trails in second with From Mama's Table to Mine at 86,779 sold. (None of his mother Paula Deen's books are on the list of top twenty sellers). Food scold Michael Pollan takes fourth place with Cooked at 75,904. As to be expected, the list is rounded out by weight loss and health-oriented books like The Juicing Bible and The Healthy Green Drink Diet.
The much written about Jerusalem by Yotam Ottolenghi placed #17 on the list with 32,696. New York Times writer Mark Bittman squeezes into the top twenty at #19 for VB6: Eat Vegan Before 6:00. Below, the top ten:
