Mike Tindall's hilarious 13-word insight into holidays with Zara - and relatable habit

Mike Tindall has given fans a rare insight into what winter holidays are like with his wife of 13 years, Zara Tindall.

Opening up previously in an interview with the Telegraph, Mike was asked about winter sports - and whether Zara is a fan of either skiing or snowboarding.

Revealing back in 2016 that Zara is a very good skier, Mike - who once appeared on Channel 4's The Jump - suggested that she is better than him at the sport and joked that she has to slow down for him.

In a 13-word quip, he said: "Zara skis very well but is happy to take it easy around me."

Explaining what skiing holidays look like for the couple, he added: "She will often wait for me when I’m on my snowboard but she can really whizz around if she needs to."

"I only snowboard if I’m on my own with Zara; if we’re with other people who want to go a bit quicker, I will stick with skis."

Discussing a typical day on a winter holiday with the couple, he revealed that he and Zara - who are now parents to Mia, 10, Lena, six, and three-year-old Lucas - aren't early birds and don't like to wake up "ridiculously early".

He added: "Zara and I aren’t about getting up ridiculously early, so we hit the lift at 9am, ski until 12.30 and then have a nice long leisurely lunch.

"Then we have another hour and a half in the afternoon. I vary my days between skiing and snowboarding – I can go fast down pisted runs but still struggle in the bumps on a snowboard."

With Christmas less than a fortnight away, Mike and Zara are likely gearing up to travel to the Sandringham estate with their children to spend the festive period with other members of the Royal Family.

Known to regularly spend the holiday season with the royals, Zara recently opened up about what the festive season is like for her.

She said: "We give presents to each other on Christmas Eve. As adults, we still have stockings on Christmas Day."
