Coach Basil is entering his 8th year as Head Football Coach at Flower Mound HS. Previous to his time at Flower Mound HS, he spent 10 season at Irving MacArthur HS and ranks 2nd on the All-time wins list in school history. He was the also the head coach at Crandall HS, and also served as an assistant at Colleyville Heritage HS. His honors include District Coach of the Year, Dallas Cowboys Coach of the Week, and he has placed multiple players in college programs Some prominent players he has coached included Ron Brooks, who starred at LSU and was a 4th round draft pick by the Buffalo Bills; James Sims, who is the 3rd All-Time Rushing leader at the University of Kansas; Ed Wesley, Kelly Griffin and Josh Vernon, who were starters for TCU on the 2010 undefeated Rose Bowl Champions; Kane Hardin, who is the All-Time career passing leader in MacArthur HS history. Coach Basil played Cornerback at the collegiate level at Miami (OH) University. He has 27 years of coaching experience and basis his philosophy on preparing players for football and for life through Character Education and Development. He has been married for 23 years and has two children.
