The white cliff is the northern side of Culver Down, where the islands chalk stripe meets the sea at its eastern end. In front, the coloured sands of Whitecliff Bay mirror those of Alum Bay, but are not nearly as famous. In the foreground, in the square, wooded landslip areas lead from the coastal path to a sandy beach below.
