The church was originally built circa 1300, and extensively rebuilt from 1976 to 1980.
There is a western tower, nave, aisles which were widened in the twentieth century, chancel, and vestry.
The short tower is of two stages, in stone and brick to the upper part which dates from the seventeenth century.
The old nave was from 1714, and rebuilt from 1976 to 1979.
The chancel has a high pitched roof, dating from Victorian times. The organ is located on the south side.
In 1976 during a drought, the church suffered from considerable subsidence and was declared unsafe for use.
Rebuilding involved the original arcade piers being retained and the arches replaced by diagonal timber struts. The aisles were widened at the same time. The funds for the work were raised by parishioners.
The octagonal font dates from circa 1400, and there is a fourteenth century triple sedilia on the south side of the nave.
There are several monuments in the church including a tomb and Easter Sepulchre to Thomas Fitzwilliam d.1403.
There are several modern Stained glass windows.
