Brookwood Cemetery, also known as the�London Necropolis, is the largest cemetery in the United Kingdom and one of the largest in Europe. The cemetery is Grade I Listed.�The original cemetery�opened to the public on 13th November 1854 when its first burials took place. Zoroastrianism is an Iranian religion and is among the world's oldest organized faiths. Brookwood Cemetery contains the only Parsee/Zoroastrian burial ground in Europe. Opened in November 1862 due to the first recorded death of a Parsee in Britain, it was redesigned in 1901 by Sir George Birdwood to the traditional plan of the Persian paradise. The Zoroastrian burial ground at Brookwood Cemetery is in the far north-west corner, beyond the military graves.
