Hazelwood's Cultural Fair 2025
Dear parent/guardian,
To celebrate the end of Integrated Month 2025 we will be hosting a cultural food fair. The pupils have been working hard to learn about culture and celebrate the different cultures that make our school and community. So come along and try some of the delicious food prepared by the pupils.
Hope to see you then.

Welcome to our school website! As you navigate your way through this site I hope that your overwhelming impression is that we are a nurturing school. I hope you see a school that offers your child opportunities to learn and to achieve – a school that develops and enriches your child through their daily experiences.
Most especially we are an Integrated school and in this environment, we talk about who we are and what we believe – we respect our own and others' cultures and backgrounds and take on the challenges that living in Northern Ireland continues to present.
Fashion Show
What a great night at our fashion show last night. All of the children were amazing, from the Comp`eres to the Choir and not to mention our very open susperstar models.
Thank you to all of you who came along to support our wonderful school. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
A huge thank you to Dunnes Stores for the clothes.
"Hazelwood continues to be an outstanding example of integration in practice"
A few weeks ago our school was assessed for the Excellence in Integration Award. Not only were we successful but we became the first integrated school in Northern Ireland to achieve this award 3 times. This is a fantastic achievement for the entire Hazelwood community. I have included a summary from the report below.
“Hazelwood Integrated Primary and Nursery School continues to be an outstanding example of Integration in practice. It is an excellent example of a mature Integrated school that is willing and able to respond to a changing environment whilst holding fast to its founding principles. Over a long period of time the school has used the EIEA process as one means of ensuring an evolving safe and stimulating environment for its pupils, staff and parents. The sense of community in the school is very impressive. It continues to have a high level of innovation in its practice. Its ability to manage its resources for the benefit of its pupils is testament to its wider management and governance.
The Governors, Principal, staff, pupils and parents deserve great credit for contributing so faithfully to this excellent Integrated primary and nursery school.
The school clearly continues to make a large contribution for good and harmonious relations in the area.”
Thank you
Mr McDaid
