This is an AM general Jeep that was produced for the US Postal Service. After the USPS was done with them they were sold at auction to the public. |

The first thumbnail shows that this one has "Jeep" stamped in the tailgate making this a Jeep not an AM General. The make didn't change to AM General until 1971, and those have AM General stamped on the tailgate instead of Jeep. Another clue that this is a Jeep is the lack of sidemarker lights on the front fender, sidemarkers were added in 1969 which is before the "Jeep General Products Division" (commercial/military division) was spun off and became AM General. |

The front sidemarker is missing in the main capture, but in the second thumbnail you can see that it does have the flare mounted front sidemarker making this a 1969-1970 model. -- Last edit: 2012-01-13 18:22:18 |
