Hi,

Both of these Stephan Thelen albums are far out, and specially for my ears the one with Markus Reuter, who has been a part of many far out things as well.

Ambient for sure, but both are very "active" and very nice, in the examples that were shown. In my case I wanted it to continue even more ... since this kind of stuff is neat, and special to my imagination. The 2nd piece "A Safe Heaven" is neat ... and I listened to it several times.

Josephine Davies only gave us one sample, and it was nice, however, it was probably more jazz oriented than Stephan Thelen, but actually very nice. Would like to listen to more of it.

As a "third stream" piece, you got to admire how much things have changed since we first heard Terje Rypdal (Odyssey) almost 50 years ago ... things have gotten far out, though one could consider his "Odyssey" style more rock oriented but here in Thelen's hands, it is something else, and it is really special and likely really well thought out. And Markus Reuter, shows just how special his work is, and has been for some time.

Hi,

Wonderful touch and very nice taste in his decisions of music ... including two pieces by Ryuichi Sakamoto ... you really want some of this at home ... really "quiet" stuff and wonderful to listen to!

Yelena Eckemoff's latest album is influenced by Medieval music, art rock and more:

Hi,

Satoko Fujii
From Altitude 1100 Meters
Morning Haze
Very classical in approach, but actually nice. Kinda fits in the modern music thing, as experimental in both sound and execution with the bending and stretching of the strings of the instruments. Nice, and interesting, with some jazzy touches.

Yelena Eckemoff
From Scenes From The Dark Ages
Village Tavern//Chivalry//Quest
A very nice sampling of a very good mix, with the Medieval/Dark Ages idea in mind for the music. It is jazzy, but has a nice classical feel, although in some cases you feel like it is going to turn into just another song. Still very nice playing all around, and a nice and well thought out idea. Even though it was jazzy in parts, the last sample was a bit to much rock'n'roll for me. Still nice, but if we want some Medieval music we still have to go to GRYPHON.

Flygmaskin
Lanchelevici
I don't think that any of us ever thought of an accordion as something that fits in various places, and in a very adventurous setting, it is fantastic, along with keyboards and some effects ... but the ability to make it sound far out, is by far one of the neatest things I have heard in some time. It probably fits some area of electronic or sone kind of modern music, but in my ears it has a special feeling ... something usually only found in trully original folks.
