Dr Emma Pickering, BMBS, BMedSc, who is in her final year, will be with us for one year from August 2022. Qualified 2017.  University of Southampton.		Dr Umar Hashmi, MBBS, MRCS, BSc, who is in his 2nd to last year, will be with us for four months from December 2022. Qualified 2013.  QMC Bahawalpur, Pakistan.
		Dr Eunice Akinpelu, MBBS, who is in her first year, will be with us for four months from December 2022. Qualified 2017.  Rostov State Medical University, Rostov-on-Don, Russian Federation.

Our Paramedic Practitioners work alongside our Doctors, providing appointments, visiting housebound patients and triaging some of our urgent calls.  They are an invaluable asset to the Practice Team.

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Shirley Moth

Shirley is our Practice Manager.  She is responsible for the day to day running of the Practice.  She welcomes any comments or suggestions which might help us to improve our service to you.  Shirley is the person you should contact if you have a complaint.

Sara Folwell

Sara is our Business Manager.  She is responsible for managing the Business aspects of the Practice.  Sara’s role includes the financial management of the Practice as well as ensuring the Practice is kept up to date in terms of staff training/recruitment, we are aware and adhering to the latest guidance etc and ensuring we reach standards set by outside governing bodies.

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

We have a large team of friendly office and reception staff.  They have a difficult job to do, with phone calls and enquiries from every direction.  Please treat them courteously.

When telephoning for medical attention the receptionist may ask for a few details.  They have been trained to make these enquiries so that we can help you in the most appropriate way.

We have a team of district nurses who work alongside the GP's and surgery staff. They provide skilled nursing care and advice, when requested, to patients, relatives and carers. Unlike the practice nurses their services are focussed on people who are housebound and includes care as diverse as minor dressings to care of the terminally ill at home.

The district nurses also work in co-operation with other health care agencies.

Health Visitors are qualified nurses with special training and experience in child health, health promotion and education. They offer practical support and advice in a host of diverse situations.

Many people think that health visitors only visit new babies and their families at home - this is not the complete picture. Health Visitors aim to promote the health of the whole community.

Your address determines who will be your Health Visitor as they work geographically.  Any family who has a child can access the service.

Health Visitors are subject to a code of professional conduct, which requires them to act in your best interest. Their aim is to help you lead as healthy a life as possible, both physically and mentally.

Tuesday          10:00 - 11:30 at Avenue House, The Avenue

                        10:00 - 11:30 ONLY the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month at Polegate Children's
                        Centre, Oakleaf Drive.

Thursday         09:30 - 11:00 at Shinewater Children's Centre Milfoil Drive

                         10:00 - 12:00am at Hampden Park Children's Centre, Brodrick Close.

Friday              10:00 - 12:00 at Princes Park Health Centre, Wartling Road.
