I cut the card at 8". I really should have used the Hide Selected Contour feature in the Cricut Craft Room to get rid of the score lines - they are too bulky for this card as you can see above.
If you aren't sure how to use "Hide Selected Contour" to get rid of cuts you don't want, check out the video below (click HERE if you can't see the video):
I used the Stars Cuttlebug folder as a background to the card. I love that folder!
Now, onto some other news. You may have heard the sad news that Creative Memories has gone into Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings for the second time in 2-3 years. If you are like me, you first got introduced to scrapbooking through Creative Memories so to see them in financial difficulty like this is very unfortunate and upsetting.
There is some question regarding what to do about purchasing matching page protectors for the coverset Creative Memories albums.
I have found out that the Close to My Heart page protectors can be modified to fit the Creative Memories albums (the 12x12 ones, not the earlier smaller ones). All you have to do is trim off the edge with the holes using your paper trimmer plus that additional 1/2" up to the edge.
The Close to My Heart page protectors are very high quality and economically priced - 50 of the page protectors are $22.95 (you can see these and get more details HERE) or you can get a smaller amount - 10 for $5.95 (see these and get more details HERE).
If you are a current Creative Memories consultant and are researching other direct selling scrapbook companies, please consider Close to My Heart, which has similar commission plans and two levels of quarterly minimums, one much lower than Creative Memories.
In Australia, Close to My Heart recently struck a deal with the Creative Memories headquarters and consultants.
For more info on Close to My Heart's consultant opportunity, check out my Top 12 Reasons to Join Close to My Heart.
For more bankruptcy information, my friend Diane from Capadia Designs, a CM consultant, is keeping everyone up to date on the legal proceedings. You can see her latest write up HERE. She has some good advice on things you can and should do.

Hi Joy,
ReplyDeleteSometimes simple is best. I usually hide the score lines on cards. I don't like they make small slits in the cards. Thanks for a chance to win.

Really cute card! Thanks for all the tutorials you do--I've learned so much! I don't have any specific ideas for more; I'm sure anything you choose will be helpful.
ReplyDeleteThere seem to be many tutorials available - but not too many on what I called advanced art techniques that can be used in scrapbooking/card making - so that's what I would like to see. I would also love to win this cartridge! Elaine S.

Beyond that I just like to see ideas from the 2 CTMH cartridges I already own. Sometimes I don't explore enough. Now I am getting ready for a July family reunion, so banners and signs might be a good topic!

I always use Cricut Craft Room for my projects. It is very user-friendly and I like that I can link my cartridges so I don't have to get them out each time I do a project.
ReplyDeleteSRob
All tutorials are great. I just watched the masking tape background tutorial. I use the cricut craft room to find which cartridges have the cut I'm looking for. Just cut busses(doodlecharm) for my niece who is a school teacher and tigers(animal kingdom),their school mascot.
ReplyDeleteI like to watch the coloring with different pens and pencils tutorials. I seem to have a problem with that and they are very helpful.
