Just curious but does even the K-1 take advantage of such speeds? Seems like recording 4K video is pretty much the only time 95 mbps is recommended. I was thinking of eventually picking up a 64 gb 80 mbps card for my future K-1 which are noticeably cheaper. Wouldn't such a card be more than capable?

I have a dozen SanDisk cards, and none have failed me, so far, and I do have 3-4 year old cards of different speeds.
I suspect there is very little practical difference in the field between the 80-95 cards, although I have never really tested.
SanDisk marketing creates all these labels: Extreme, Extreme Pro, Ultra - but what do they mean?
Perhaps someone more knowledgable would point out the differences between the different cards.

Extreme, Extreme Pro, Ultra - but what do they mean?

Ultra: the cheapest series, but still decently fast
Extreme: faster read and write with a guaranteed minimum sustained write speed of 30 Mb/s (U3, required for HD video)
Extreme pro: the fastest read and write speeds available
Extreme pro UHS II: the fastest read and write speeds available for UHS-II compatible devices (card has two rows of data pins)

All extreme cards have a lifetime limited warranty AFAIK.

I have several 64GB Extreme Pro 95MB cards and it doesn't appear that the K-1 can write fast enough to really take advantage. I was hoping for UHS-II hardware, but that didn't happen. With 250MBs write speeds you really don't need much of a buffer, but it would take one hell of an image processor to move that much data that quick.

If you shoot RAW bursts, there's a minimal difference - on the K3- with the 90MB/s vs 45MB/s in how fast the shots can be taken after the buffer is full. I'm not saying it's significant, but it's there. At least, trying this just now with a 90MB/s 32GB vs a 45MB/s one. No difference in the number of shots before the buffer is full (or if there is, it's a single shot and I can't count). I'm also sure I get better transfer speeds reading from the card, with up to 60MB/s on the 90s and 45 on the 45s. Can't corroborate that, though, without serious testing. Most of the issue, there, though, is card readers and poor USB3 implementations.

I found the K3 write speed on the 45 cards too slow with a HSM 70-200 and fast-moving fireworks.

I get the full 95 Mb/s read speed when transferring through my new laptop's on-board card reader- it's a high-end "gaming" machine, though. A huge upgrade over my old laptop, where I'd get maybe 40 Mb/s.
