Great for cats with sensitive stomachs!

IvOcelot

I have a 2 year old flame point Siamese who is a bit picky with her foods, but also has a super sensitive stomach. She has always loved Royal Canin dry foods, but she’s a bit fussier with wet. Other brands don’t agree with her, but she is thriving on this food! I feed this to both her and my older 10 year old boy cat daily along with their respective dry foods. This has definitely made my flamepoints poops a lot less stinky and her digestive tract more stable for sure. The loaf in sauce is a household favorite, I wish it was a bit easier to find in stores, but it’s easily accessible online at least.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All 3 of my cats have sensitive stomachs. I am always finding unpleasant surprises after they have eaten. This is one of the few brands I have found that does not have them throwing everything back up 20 minutes later.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little nervous trying this with my cats because they are pretty picky and get upset stomachs easily, but there didn’t seem to be any issues! The cats loved it and there weren’t any stomach issues. Definitely a product to keep in mind for the future!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a great product. As soon as I opened the can, the cat got interested. I sometimes she just isn't interested, but the smell coming from the can, got her excited. It was gone quickly, and the cat, who has a touchy stomach, loved it. This is an affordable product for cats that have digestive issues.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cats loved these cans. They ate everything up and wanted more. One of my cat has a more sensitive stomach than the other one and did not throw anything up. Would get again.

Is this good for cats with megacolon / constipation issues? We usually use Hill's Prescription Diet Gastrointestinal Biome wet canned food, but that has stocking issues so alternatives are needed sometimes.

  1. You can try it and see. This product also has stocking issues. I've been unable to find it many, many times. You should check with your vet for an alternative when needed.

Why do you allow corn flour. When have you seen a cat hunt an ear of corn in the wild. Why do you allow by-products? The first ingredients are by-products, which means my cat is getting the poop left over in the intestines being put in Royal.

Please list the ingredients in the cat food. I am worried about by-products and meal.

    1. The first two ingredients... chicken by-products, pork by-products, pork liver, salmon, chicken liver, wheat flour, and a long list of things I have no idea what they are.... However, I will say my cats loved this and did extremely well on this food and one of them even had FIV. Also, on this food, they utilize almost all of it, so there is very little waste in the litter box!

Our vet recommends hydrolyzed protein, only, for our cat. This food lists hydrolyzed chicken liver, but has other proteins listed; is it all hydrolyzed protein? or only partly hydrolyzed, with other 'regular meat proteins'?

    1. i don’t believe so.  you may have to use a ver formula like hills z/d.  however, since your vet didn’t recommend one, maybe a food with some hydrolyzed protein will work for the issue your cat has.  we started on a vet formula and now use both.  best bet is to discuss it with your vet.

I have a 12 yr. old cat (indoors only) with persistent watery diarrehea and weight loss. This 14 lb. cat is now 7 lbs. Has been vetted many times over. Is this food (wet & dry) suggested to help this situation?

    1. Please reach out and speak to your veterinarian

What is the phosphorous level in this food?

    1. seems to be difficult to find this info. try calling royal canin.

Is RC Digestive suitable for a 20 year old kitty with a sensitive tummy or is RC Aging better for her?  She eats small portions 3x a day and also has dry food available.

    1. Thanks for reaching out.Even at 20 years old, if you cat is otherwise healthy and just has a sensitive stomach, we would recommend the canned Digest Sensitive
