Poster Monday: Love Without Barriers
For October’s last Poster Monday spot we have a poster from our previously featured designer Kathiana Cardona, a Caracas based graphic designer and photographer. She studied graphic design and visual arts in Montreal, Canada, and photography in Roberto Mata Taller de Fotografía in Caracas, Venezuela. Kathiana has participated in several workshops of artistic expression. She taught graphic design, photography and publishing in Caracas. She has developed her career as a freelance graphic designer and photographer. Kathiana considers poster design not just as a tool to capture, but to also hold people’s interest, as well as an opportunity to raise questions through a radical visual analysis.
Kathiana’s first intention with the poster “Love Without Barriers” was made with the sole objective of promoting inclusion and acceptance, as well as promoting the rights of all people regardless of race, color, religion or sexual preferences. The poster shows that we can love everyone, that in the end we are all human beings equal but with some differences in thought, skin and experiences. The poster intends to portray that these differences should not be an impediment to love freely.
“It is for me a commitment to society, a commitment that inspires me and gives me the freedom to express what I feel and think, which gives me the satisfaction of being able to help humanity and travel the world with my message” says Kathiana. She creates work that is positive and uplifting, but also shows the difficult situations that many must go through such as hunger, misery and violation of human rights. She hopes to offer possible solutions to these problems.
Visit Kathiana’s personal site to know more about her and remember to submit your posters for the next edition of Poster Monday, find all the info you need to participate on our submissions page.
