Paige Crafts! Animal Mask Tutorial
Welcome to Paige Crafts #2!!
Today Paige is sharing a project that she and her friend Lexi made. We watch Lexi and her little brother every weekday, so you may see her around a lot. She's the sweetest girl, I'm really blessed to have a little friend like her for Paige. And Lexi loves to read, so they have that in common! They love library day and often ask if their book rest can be "a few minutes longer" so they can finish their books. Amazing. I so wish I'd been like that when I was little. (And I bet my mom did, too!) They can each finish a 60-page chapter book during nap time! I probably sound like a big fat liar(or a terrible brag!) for sharing that, but it is the honest truth. I don't take credit for it, I'm pretty sure it's just her super-competitive nature. She has to be able to do whatever her friend can do! Aren't kids just amazing with what they can accomplish when they're motivated?
Anyway, the girls made these "Princess" sleep masks a few days ago. It was in the back of a $ store Sleeping Beauty book. They loved it! They had a blast decorating them. I did the letters, obviously. :o)
And we thought it would be fun to make cute little animal versions! Technically, I made these masks because the girls wanted to play "puppies", but it still counts, right?
So without further ado, here is Paige, in her own words! (With Mommy in black.)
"It's Paige!
I wrote a story for you:
One day me and Lexi, well, she's a friend, but I don't think you know her. We went to the circus. Well, I got to ride an elephant and a pony and guess what? We even got to see people do tricks and it was so fun.
Guess what?
I and my mamma made a mask for me and Lexi. Mamma made them because for the blog because she wanted to be nice and give me stuff. Cute masks!
Um, my mamma made them, so I don't know[how to make them]. I love Mom. From Paige. The end.
[Mom reminds Paige that she and Lexi made the "princess" masks. "How did you make them?"]
Oh and I think we made princess masks. It's a mask that you decorate with those little things [sequins and embellishments]. And then you use them with a hot glue gun and then the last thing, you glue them together and the very last thing, you put string around it. The end.
Have a nice day!
Paige"

Have fun with them!!
We were also thinking that if you left eye holes they would be cute dress-up/costume masks, which I think they would have even more fun with!
Enjoy your day!
Love,
Paige
(and Mom)
P.S. As always, if you want to leave a comment for Paige I will read each and every one to her! She loved all the comments you left last time. She said: "Mom! How'd they know my name??" haha.

ReplyDeleteI showed this to my five-year-old daughter who wanted to tell Paige:
ReplyDelete"I really like it. Well, you and your mom should make more crafts. Then post them like the same thing you and your mom just did. Well, whenever you get this message, well, you can make another one [craft post] the same day or the day after. Now you can go back to whatever you were doing. Good day! Wait! I was just thinking maybe you could write it [a new craft post] a day sooner than you normally do? It's okay if you don't, I'm just asking."

By the way, isn't this age so much fun? I love it! And Lillian really loved this post, Paige. She ran and grabbed our felt and sequins as fast as she could so we could make our own masks. :)
