Big Cedar Lodge

January 26, 2013 by Morgan Leave a Comment

Every now and then we get the chance to take a little vacation.

Normally the vacations we tend to take are more visiting my family in Indiana. The one bummer about living so far from my family is not getting to see them as often, for BBQs on Saturdays or Sunday dinners or even birthday parties for my little sisters. Instead we don’t have any of that all year and then we pack it into one week. I tend to visit Indiana more, but my husband can’t afford, and doesn’t want to spend that much time away from his business.

This year instead of visiting Indiana like we normally do we did something a little different. We met my Dad, Stepmom, little sisters, and brother at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson.

We left on December 31st and spent the night driving down. Talk about kicking our butts the next morning when our daughter was ready to get up at 6 AM and we were both exhausted! I thought that was rough, but the day after we got back was even harder. That was my first dose of really traveling with our little one when she wasn’t a newborn and slept all the time anyway!

We had a great week and it was a good relaxing vacation for us and we have lots of pictures to prove it!

We stayed at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, Missouri…and if you haven’t heard of it please check out their website. It was amazing. We had wonderful service and the entire resort was absolutely stunning this time of year- I can only imagine how beautiful it looks in the Spring and Summer time! If you never wanted to leave the resort and simply wallow in all it’s areas of wonderful I recommend it for you. We stayed in the Governor’s Suite which was perfect for our entire family…and I hear it was getting a make over right after we left!

Our family has already started planning for our next visit to Big Cedar- we can’t wait!

While we waited on the rest of the family to arrive we killed some time at the Toy Museum..Elliette enjoyed it- but I think Jason and I enjoyed it maybe a little bit more!

The main living area of the Governor’s Suite. They even left the Christmas Decor up for us, since we were celebrating our family Christmas!

My Mom sent our gifts with my sister and Elliette LOVED her Yo Gabba Gabba…I don’t know anything about them, but she was pretty excited to get this one! Thanks Mom!

We decided we didn’t need to wait to open our gifts- so we did it as soon as we were all settled the first night.

Dogwood Canyon was wayyyy cool! And I have some really great pictures from our wonderful photographer that will look fabulous in our basement (which I am working on painting/decorating!)

I will say it is almost impossible to get us all to cooperate for a picture.

I couldn’t leave out this picture of my little sister.

My sister and I. I love this picture!

Anyway, if you are looking for a fabulous, family oriented vacation consider Big Cedar it was beautiful and perfect for our big family to celebrate the holidays!

I was in no way paid for my thoughts and shares on Big Cedar Lodge, this was just me simply telling you how wonderful our vacation was!

I met my husband for the first time face to face on the exit ramp that is now down the road from our home. I lived in South Dakota for a year before I was sure I was ready to do this whole "farm wife" thing...(read more!)
