Today I’m sharing a super cute and inexpensive small storage bench that I used in my daughter’s room refresh. This project is so simple and can be built in just a couple hours using 1 sheet of 1/2″ plywood and a couple of 1x2s. I think I spent a total of about $40 on materials!
I used to have a bookcase here, but we were ready for a change. Not willing to give up the storage the bookcase provided, I came up with this bench that can hold baskets with toys in the compartments. I fell in love with these smaller fabric coil baskets, but the compartments fit much larger baskets beautifully as well!
I plan on sewing a more permanent cushion for the top of it, but in the mean-time, this faux sheepskin fur works great to add a little more comfort.
Here is what it looks like without the fur on top:

Such a great build! I think this would be great in a little nook or even an entry way!
Amazing ideas. It is really clever, multitasking and space saving ideas. In small home its help to get rid of messy toys. Thanks for such a nice idea to organize kids toys.
