Whitehaven is on the Cumbrian coast with a newly restored harbour.
Whitehaven's past is associated with the slave trade, coal mining, and early town planning.
The town has much to offer visitors, including new attractions such as The Beacon and the Rum Story.

Shopping The main shopping street
St Nicholas 1 St Nicholas' Church burnt down several years ago.
It is now used as a cafe, and a meeting place.

John Paul Jones The John Paul Jones pub is named after the renegade, who made a failed attack on the town from the sea, having joined the American navy.
