St. Petersburg boy, 17, arrested in shooting death of 15-year-old

St. Petersburg police have arrested a teen accused of fatally shooting a 15-year-old boy last week.

Detectives arrested Zymere Darden-Williams, 17, Monday on a charge of second-degree murder, according to a news release from St. Petersburg Police Department.

He is accused of killing 15-year-old Tomohnd Newkirk, who was found with a gunshot wound Wednesday about 6 p.m. at TGM Bay Isle apartments, located at 11850 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N.

Tomohnd was taken to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

An arrest report for Darden-Williams was not immediately available, and no further information was released.
