A true professional in every sense of the word.
Eddie began his racing career at the age of 11
on a motor scooter, graduated to drag racing,
moved on to racing motorcycles, set world
records drag-boat racing, and returned to
land drag racing where he continues his most
illustrious career. Eddie was the first drag
racer to break the five-second barrier and is
the oldest driver ever to win an NHRA Top Fuel
event and World Championship. His many
innovations include small front tires, the front
wing, a breather mask, and the smoky burnout
before every run.
Texan Racing however is more than just this
talented, affable driver. Besides being
team manager, wife Ercie also functions as
sponsor liaison, fueler, and starting line
guide. Former Top Fuel Crew Chief of the
Year (1993), Fuzzy Carter is responsible for
all mechanical preparations on the Pennzoil
Top Fueler. He's a tireless worker and
carries a fierce desire to win. Fuzzy's wife
Jana is part of the crew. She also serves as
team bookkeeper and video tapes every run.
