Today’s Photo Of The Day comes from Czechoslovakia (indirectly via Mac Tactical) in the form of a VZ 61 Skorpion machine pistol. This particular Skorpion is chambered in .32ACP and is outfitted with a Schreyer Weapons Systems Aculeus silencer which uses the traditional compression fit quick detach system that seals down on the bulge on the barrel.

Below the VZ 61 sits next to the modern-day CZ-USA Scorpion pistol.

Skorpion VZ62 WiKIpedia:

The Škorpion vz. 61 is a Czechoslovak 7.65 mm machine pistol developed in 1959 by Miroslav Rybář (1924–1970) and produced under the official designation Samopal vzor 61 (“submachine gun model 1961”) by the Česká zbrojovka arms factory in Uherský Brod from 1961 to 1979.

Although it was developed for use with security forces and special forces, the weapon was also accepted into service with the Czechoslovak Army, as a personal sidearm for lower-ranking army staff, vehicle drivers, armored vehicle personnel and special forces. Currently the weapon is in use with the armed forces of several countries as a sidearm. The Škorpion was also license-built in Yugoslavia, designated M84. It features a synthetic pistol grip compared to the original version. A civilian, semi-automatic version was also produced, known as the M84A, also available in .380 ACP (9×17mm Short).

I do so LOVE these old Skorpions. Even if they do kind of suck haha. Would really think hard about giving a toe for one. (Can't bring myself to consider my left nut.)
I am fully aware it is stupid... but I want one in part so I can carry it in that goofy shoulder blade holster from The Winter Soldier. Highly impractical. Yes. Cool in a stupid Rob Liefeld kind of way haha.

These babies were most popular assassination weapons among Serbian mobsters during 1990's, especially suppressed ones.
