MAGIC COOKIE BARS
We grew up eating these cookie bars and called them Magic Cookie Bars, but I also know they can go by the name of 7 Layer Magic Bars or Hello Dolly Cookie Bars. I think they are called Magic Bars because of how easy they are to make. You simply throw the ingredients together and they magically turn into a delicious Magic Cookie Bar!
MAGIC BARS
I haven’t made these in a really long time and I was craving them something fierce the other day! They were a perfect treat for a lazy Sunday afternoon with the family. The hardest part is waiting for them to cool down enough so that they aren’t a gooey mess to eat…even though they taste just as good!
7 Layer Magic Bars
Do you have a different name for them? What do you like to add to them to make them perfect for your family?

And…just because I LOVE a great label, I quickly made these FREE Printable Milk Bottle Labels. If you would like to download some for your own personal use click on the link below. As always, please do not use these for your etsy stores or re-sale them in any way.
FREE Printable Milk Bottle Labels
The labels contain both black labels (as seen in the photos) and white labels with black writing. I like to print them on regular white printer paper and then cut them out. Then I simply glue them onto my jars with an Elmer’s glue stick. It works just like a sticker and lays down nice and smoothly. To remove, simply wash the jar with warm, soapy water.

Thank you Tiare!
My aunt gave us a recipe like this many years ago. She calls them “Hello Dollies.” My daughter loves to make them, and she renamed them “Lolli’s Special Sweet Stuff.” Thanks for sharing!
I had someone tell me they called them Hello Dollies the other day too! It must be a regional thing! They are delicious either way! I like your daughter’s name best! :)
Hi, these look soooo yummy!! Any suggestion to make these gluten free???
I wish I could help…I am not very good at converting recipes!
M2d2deckens- To make them gluten free, just use gluten-free graham crackers. They are available. My Son in ław has Celiac disease and eats gluten-free
graham crackers without any problems.
Thanks for sharing!! I know it will be helpful to many!
These look so good! Thanks!
OH my!! THese look delicious! My boys will love them too!
Heather- They are a family favorite for sure!
Can you use graham cracker crumbs instead of crushing graham crackers? Or are the crushed too fine?
Thanks! Can’t wait to make these!!!!
Lynn- I think that would work great.
These cookies looks so scrumptious. I can hardly wait to make them. All my favorite ingredients. Yummy!
Ivory- They really are so yummy and simple to make.
I cannot resist a magic bar!! Though, I love that you add pecans on the top! They add a nice crunch!
Natalie-I love the pecans too!
You better believe that whenever I am craving something sweet, these are one of our go-to’s! My family loves them!
Kristyn- They are one of our go-to’s as well!
My mother made these all the time but the bottom layer was different. She made them with a shortbread like bottom and she used walnuts instead of pecans. I know they are my younger brother’s favourites. My oldest sister makes them for him as a treat. They were a family favourite. Mom called them Hello Dolly squares.
Lydia- That sounds amazing. I will have to try the shortbread and walnuts. I have heard them called Hello Dolly Bars too!
How big are a “package” of graham crackers? I searched and saw that a box comes in 14.4oz (I’m not in the US). I crushed this amount and I have a huge cookie mess! What amount did you use? Half a box (about 7oz)?
Yes, just half a box it plenty.
