Submission request to W3C
We, W3C member Reuters Limited, hereby submit to the Consortium the following specification comprising the document(s) linked below:
which collectively are referred to as "the submission". We request the submission be known as the Date and Time submission.
The document defines a profile of ISO 8601, the International Standard for the representation of dates and times. ISO 8601 describes a large number of date/time formats. To reduce the scope for error and the complexity of software, it is useful to restrict the supported formats to a small number. This profile defines a few date/time formats, likely to satisfy most requirements.
Reuters Limited claims no copyright interests in the documents comprising the submission.
The following are registered marks refered to in this request or the submission: None.
The submission may be distributed within the membership of the W3C free of any fee. The submission may be distributed publicly free of any fee.
The following points should be noted as regards licensable technology involved in any third party implementations of the technology specified in the submission: None.
We suggest that the Consortium ask the RDF Model and Syntax Working Group to consider the submission. If appropriate, the Consortium should adopt the submission as a Recommendation.
To help with this work, we expect to be able to provide technical and editorial assistance if any changes are required to the document.
Should any changes be required to the document, we would expect future versions to be produced by W3C process.
Inquiries from the public or press about this submission should be directed to: Misha Wolf <misha.wolf@reuters.com>
