Indra Sistemas, S.A. (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈindɾa sisˈtemas]) is a Spanish information technology and defense systems company founded in 1992.[citation needed] Indra is listed on the Bolsa de Madrid and is a constituent of the IBEX 35 index.[citation needed]

In 2018 and 2019 Indra was fined for participating in a 14-year cartel rigging the contracts for Spanish railway infrastructure and leading a 15-year cartel rigging the offers of IT services to several public administrations in Spain.
Business areas
Indra is organized around three business areas: information technologies, simulation & automatic test equipment, and defense electronic equipment.[citation needed] Indra's portfolio ranges from consultancy, project development, and systems and applications integration to outsourcing of IT systems and business processes, structured into two primary segments: solutions and services (including outsourcing and application maintenance), and business processes where technology is a strategic and differentiating element (BPO).[citation needed] This includes:
- Air traffic control systems, where as of 2009 it was one of the world's largest suppliers;[2] Indra claims that a third of the world's air traffic is managed by systems developed by the company (such as the SACTA system)
- Aircraft simulators
- Defense
- Ticketing systems developed for rapid transit systems such as those in Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Lisbon, Shanghai, Athens, Buenos Aires, Mumbai[3] and Santiago de Chile[citation needed]
- Financial services
- Energy
- Electoral technology and processes
- Health information systems
Revenues
About a third of the company's annual revenues come[when?] from international markets.[citation needed] By geographical areas, Europe and the United States are[when?] the two international markets with the greatest weight and growth for Indra. Indra is operating also in Latin America.[citation needed]
Fines for rigging
Indra was fined in 2018,[4] and 2019[5] for participating in a 14-year cartel rigging the contracts for Spanish railway infrastructure and leading a 15-year cartel rigging the offers of IT services to several public administrations in Spain.[6]
Indra Sistemas ran the 2008 Angolan legislative election and was accused of helping the MPLA win that election.[7]
