Noè Ponti (born 1 June 2001) is a Swiss swimmer. He won a bronze medal in the 100 meter butterfly at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. At the 2024 short course World Aquatics Ponti won three gold medals, and set world records in the 50 and 100 meter butterfly events.

Career

He competed in the men's 4 × 100 metre freestyle relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics.[2][3]

Following the olympics, Ponti enrolled at North Carolina State University in the United States and joined the NC State Wolfpack swimming & diving team.[4][5] He left university and returned to Switzerland to continue his professional training after one month in the United States.[6]

In August 2022, he won a silver medal in the 100 meter butterfly during the European Swimming Championships in Rome.[7]

Ponti set a new world record for the 50 meter butterfly in October 2024 at the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup in Shanghai.[8] On 11 December 2024, he swam a new world record for the same event during the 2024 Short Course World Championships in Budapest.[9][10]
