Blue/Red at Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort
About
With a unique location on an island in the Delaware River, Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort boasts 27 scenic holes of championship golf. The island dates back to long ago when Pennsylvania was still covered by glacial ice fields. The Wisconsin Glacier, one of the last glaciers, formed the island when it melted. Today, the gently rolling landscape is abundant with trees and wildlife, providing a secluded atmosphere that is perfect for golf. The three nines are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Blue/Red Course crisscrosses the landscape, offering beautiful views of the surrounding Poconos Mountains along the way. The layout is mostly flat but there are some strategically placed bunkers to keep it interesting. In addition to the three courses, there is also a nine-hole, par-3 course.

Good Course
The course was in good condition. The staff was great. Need to repair the cart paths not in good condition. The greens and fairways were in good condition. Good course layout!
Mr golfer
I plaid this course the past 3 years, my latest round has had the best conditions.
Poor shape, ne
Played red/white. Course is in very poor shape in comparison with other courses. Tons of weeds and crabgrass. Greens were soft due to rain the night before, and one or two holes were closed to puddles. Even then, it felt like a basic municipal course. It's a shame especially considering the history of the course.
I'd stay away in the future, as it isn't even close to same level of courses we played the same weekend (Jack Frost National and Skytop)
Last second book
So glad we chose to go to Shawnee on the spur of the moment. Such a cool set up and dinnertime tee time with no one really out on the course was just what we needed. Plus I got to see my best friend.
Fun course
I played on a holiday so the pace of play was ok. When we finished the front 9 -three hours later, we asked if we could play the other 9 holes because the players in front of was very slow. The staff checked with the starter at the other 9 holes it was ok and away we went. We finished the last 9 holes just under 2 hours. Staff was great.
Always a treat
This course never disappoints. Quick overnight trip with boys . We played all three courses and as usual they did not disappoint. Course is in very good shape. Greens are flawless. Staff is ver y friendly and professional. Special shout out to Travis the young man who weaved his way through what seem like a debacle sorting bags and tee times etc. good job young man….
Just Good “Old School” Golf, With Tons Of History
Worth the trip form Bergen County.
Somehow it’s a “Golf Resort” just over the Delaware River in Pennsylvania with a lot of history to it. You pull up, and you are immediately brought back in time. Arnold Palmer, Jackie Gleason played here, and many more.
The layout (Played the Blue-Red) while no hole (Except the two par 3’s over the water) really stand out, it’s just good overall golf holes. Wide open, but it can be brutal if you miss the greens on your approach.
Take the trip out and you’ll enjoy it very much.
Nice course
You are technically playing on a small island in the Delaware River. They rebuilt the bridge and renovating some holes.
Overall still a great place to play.
Deceptively Challenging
I played the Red and Blue courses. The fairways are wide open, but the rough is extremely thick. I wasn't the only golfer losing balls in the thick grass, resulting in a slow pace on the Blue course. The greens are undulating and in great shape. I played far from my best round, but the people were all friendly. Overall, a nice time.
