Headlight Mounts Part 1 |
Shock and Headlight Mounts
I'll start this article by showing you the cut shock mount. Yes, I cut them down and will no longer have the turn signals in them. Some of the photos show the tall towers before they were cut. |
I grabbed my trusty sheet of 10-gauge (1/8 inch) steel and started the headlight mounts by drilling a 1 3/4 inch hole. |
Next I drilled two 1-inch holes on each side of the big hole leaving 3/8 inch of metal between them. |
Kind of looks like a little dash board huh? Don’t worry I’m going to clue you in on what I’m doing soon, I just want to keep you in suspense! ;) |
The black lines signify future cut marks. |
A Sawsall was used to cut along the lines between the holes. Note the hi-tech saw horses with built in trash disposal unit. :) |
