Eco lodges, usually set close to rivers, away from town centres, owned and run by people who are nature lovers. Toilet is usually dry (sometimes, you have a choice between regular and dry toilet), and the food is made from organic products from the garden or from the neighbour’s garden. This is where you’ll be able to enjoy breakfast while watching a monkey or a toucan, and enjoy beautiful and natural sites while eating and sleeping.
Lodging called ‘fincas’, usually in the countryside, away from town centres, they are usually well equipped (swimming-pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, pool tables and other games) and enable customers to relax after a full day of visiting.
Regular hotels are often situated in town centres, close to bars, restaurants and discos. If you are in a colonial town, it is a good way to stay in old beautiful houses.
Youth hostels, on a shoestring, they are cheap and friendly, it can be a good way to meet other travellers. One can sleep in a dormitory but often, double rooms are available.
Alternate all these options depending on what is available and best suited to the place and the moment.
