Icy spots on ramps, flyovers, and overpasses with refreeze possible
Houston TranStar reports icy roadways that could create unsafe conditions for motorists in the Houston area.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Drivers, keep an eye on icy conditions on Houston-area roads and drive safely after a winter storm hit southeast Texas.

Roads are icy after a winter storm dropped snow across the Houston area on Tuesday. The snow began to melt but froze again as temperatures dropped overnight.

By late Wednesday morning, Houston police closed the eastbound lanes of the South Loop at Telephone Road due to icy conditions.

The roads may become even more impassable after temperatures rise and fall again, causing melted snow to re-freeze.
