HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Drivers, keep an eye on icy conditions on Houston-area roads and drive safely after a winter storm hit southeast Texas.
Roads are icy after a winter storm dropped snow across the Houston area on Tuesday. The snow began to melt but froze again as temperatures dropped overnight.
By late Wednesday morning, Houston police closed the eastbound lanes of the South Loop at Telephone Road due to icy conditions.

As of Wednesday morning, Houston TranStar reported more than 50 closures across the Houston area due to dangerous driving conditions.
