At the UAB Football team's homecoming game this year, the Blazers will don special uniforms to honor Children's Harbor patients.

Children's Harbor is an organization that serves seriously ill children and their families through integrative, no-cost services at the Family Center in Birmingham's Benjamin Russell Hospital and the Lake Martin camp facility in Alexander City.

UAB Blazers players teamed up Children's Harbor patients, visiting them regularly to build relationships and encourage the kids as they fight through illness.

"Children's Harbor has absolutely become a part of the Blazer family," said head coach Bill Clark. "I intend for this relationship to grow with our program. As we build, there will be even more we can do to provide encouragement and a positive distraction to support the terrific work Children's Harbor does."

The Blazers will face off against Louisiana Tech on 3 p.m. at Legion Field.
