AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — City Councilman Cole Stanley won the Amarillo mayor race with 75-percent of the vote.
"Thank you so much for the vote of confidence and believing in me," Stanley said, "Now it's just ready to go to work and don't want to let you down."

He won the race outright despite facing five challengers, including longtime city councilwoman Fred Powell.
In fact, Stanley finished with 12,000 more votes than Powell who came in second.
Stanley will be sworn in on May 16.

"The first order of business is to jump into (the) budget and and start moving that money where we know we need it," said Stanley.
