I am a pediatric occupational therapist (OT) from Florida, whose greatest passion is working with children with Autism. I graduated from McGill University, in Montreal Canada in 2003. I began as an OT in adult rehab but quickly redirected my career to working with children.

I was always involved with handicapped children and children with learning disabilities who required a shadow at school or special attention to get them through a regular day, so when it was time to choose a career, my natural choice was to work with children with disabilities and fight for their inclusion in society. I had come across very few children with Autism when I first began my studies as an OT but as soon as I began interacting with them during my internships I was fascinated and humbled by them.

I have since been working almost exclusively with children with Autism, ADD, ADHD, Developmental Delays and Sensory Processing Disorders. I think that these children are wonderful and they are faced with the daily challenge of making sense of their environment which as we all know can be so overwhelming to the average child (and adult) let alone to a child whose sensory processing challenges are compounded by the difficulty of verbally expressing their frustration.

My goal is to make every child comfortable and confident in the body that they have. I respect their boundaries as well as their motivators and with that in mind, I create fun, safe and innovative ways to teach them life skills.

I want every child to feel good about who they are. I don’t want them to feel stuck in their body and not know how to express themselves. I want them to feel that they are understood and to help them be the best they can be.
