Region History

Allama Iqbal Open University, Regional Campus, Karachi was established in 1976 and Shifted to its own building in 2003. Regional Campus Karachi caters Seven Districts (Karachi Malir, Karachi East, Karachi Korangi, Karachi South, Karachi Central, Karachi West, Karachi Kemari) having 18- Towns, 3780 KM Kilometers. It has 8- Study centers (as of Autumn 2021) and 593 Registered Tutors in the Region. Facilities in regional campus Karachi includes a functional helpdesk and library computer lab Auditorium E-Class rooms and all type of IT support required to students.Enrollment as per semester spring 2022 7629 number of registered tutors 1208 and 10 Examination centers are established under RC Karachi.

About

The Allama Iqbal Open University was established in May, 1974, with the main objectives of providing educational opportunities to masses and to those who cannot leave their homes and jobs. During all these past years, the University has more than fulfilled this promise.
