Cambridge, MA- Alfred State Football dropped a hard-fought game against Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 20-0. The Pioneers fall to 1-2 on the season.
Silas Egenlauf led the Pioneers defense with 16 tackles. He had eight solo tackles, and two tackles for a loss. Neftali Cruz added seven tackles, with one being a tackle for a loss.
On the offensive side of the ball, Nicholas Cuomo rushed for 30 yards on eight carries. Josh Graham rushed for 31 yards on 12 carries. Justin Horvath went 11-22 for 64 yards, and his main target was Evan Bowen who caught for passes for 28 yards.
MIT took control of the game with a touchdown in the first quarter, then scored another touchdown in the second quarter. The Beavers added one more touchdown late in the fourth quarter to get the 20-0 win.
The Pioneers are back on the road next Saturday for a matchup against Buffalo State.
