Things To Do Today Planner: the Perfect Planner for List Lovers!

I like planners, and I like list making, so when I came across the Silvine Things To Do Today Planner I wanted to try it out. It reminds me of a larger version of this lists book I found at Kmart some time ago.

I really like the 3 separate sections – plus you could create more with washi tape or by drawing a line.

While not the prettiest planner it is very functional!

Since the planner doesn’t have tabs and my header stickers aren’t long enough to cover the appointments text, I added a strip of washi tape to cover up the word and also make it easier to find which page I was using.

The planner has space for ‘day of’ but I used white out to convert it into a weekly planner.

The line spacing is just right and I like that there’s a dedicated column to tick off when a task is completed (I never cross things out – too messy!)

I stuck to using my usual blogging workflow:

  • D = draft
  • E = Edited
  • I = Images
  • P = Pinterest

If you don’t have a blog, you could use a similar coding / abbreviation system for recurring tasks e.g. CK = Clean kitchen, EG = energy bill due etc.

Pros of the Things To Do Today Planner

  • Very functional layout – no wasted space
  • Tear off pages – ideal for shopping lists or pre-planning your week and slipping into your planner
  • Also ideal for project planning, or for over-flow tasks that don’t fit in your ‘journal / pretty’ planner

Cons of the Things To Do Today Planner

  • The cover is not pretty and the inside colors are plain
  • Bit bulky – too big to carry in your purse

Would I use again?

As someone that doesn’t tend to do things on the day I ‘plan’ to do them – I just do them whenever I’m motivated during the week (other than blog posts), a list book like this is a good alternative to a traditional planner. It’s very functional but I wish it was a bit prettier!

If I were to use this book again I’d probably use it for pre-planning the week or just keeping a running list of to do’s and referring to it when picking a few tasks to put into my planner each week.
