There’s a new place to hang out and listen to jazz in Port Orleans French Quarter. Yesterday, Scat Cat’s Club celebrated its grand opening.
Frequent guests at Port Orleans French Quarter may be thinking “that’s always been there.” You are correct — but Scat Cat’s as you know it has been transformed.
Scat Cat’s Club has undergone an expansion and re-location. The new Scat Cat’s Club is in the space that was once home to Bonfamille’s Café. A new Scat Cat’s Club – Café opened in the former Scat Cat’s Club yesterday morning and offers all day beignets. Read about our visit to Scat Cat’s Club – Café here!
Last night we stopped by Port Orleans French Quarter to check out the new Scat Cat’s Club.
Right away we noticed, though larger, the space feels more intimate since it is not sitting between the resort’s busy lobby and Sassagoula Floatworks Food Court. It feels and looks like a jazz club.
We enjoyed the decor, the lighting, and the mix of contemporary tables with chairs along with the club chairs dotted around.
Walking in we loved seeing the new stage lit in purple. It really does feel more like a jazz club and a space designed for live performances versus a resort lobby bar. Scat Cat’s Club will offer live jazz music five nights a week.
The bar menu is quite extensive offering mixed drinks, wines, beers, ciders, and non-alcoholic options.
There are also some small plate options, a few of these might make for a nice dinner!

We enjoyed our grand opening day visits to both Scat Cat’s Club – Café and Scat Cat’s Club. Are you staying at Port Orleans French Quarter anytime soon? Will you be stopping by the new locations? Let us know in the comments!
