How would Mega Granbull affect the current game now?

Alex Says: Hello again, my friends. Its ya boi Alex here back on the THB account with something that I’ve been working on with Zack for so long. First things first though, shoutouts to Zack for pestering me on the daily and putting up with the “CODE RED” when I would just put this off and dodge it. I’m back, I’m working, I’m getting all this shit done. Today I’m doing the competitive portion of this as I usually do. Anyway, I should probably get into this since he’s been waiting so long lol

I personally believe a mega for Granbull would be insanely good. Whether it be in the OU tier or the UU tier, I think it could do a lot. In OU, it can help balance break with access to things like Sub and Bulk Up or it can run four attacks in UU to hit everything. 90 speed allows it to outspeed things like Heatran, Tapu Fini, and Magearna in OU and then other things like Rotom-Wash, Heracross, and Suicune in UU. This is huge because, with a 145 attack stat, it can hit everything fairly hard.

0 SpA Alomomola Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Granbull: 51-61 (15.8 - 19%) -- possible 6HKO

0 SpA Latias-Mega Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Granbull: 104-123 (32.3 - 38.3%) -- 97.8% chance to 3HKO

These calcs show that Granbull can be an extremely good stall breaker in most cases. Once the team takes down the ground type, Granbull can come in and Sub/BulkUp against the world. With the speed, it can stand up to things like Heracross, the premier stallbreaker that got beat down thanks to the introduction of Mega Latias and Mega Pidgeot. On certain teams, this mon can certainly do a lot of work.

As for the ability, I’m not sure how well it will work. With the added move Iron Head and newly acquired STAB, there’s no question about how that will help Granbull, but Intimidate doesn’t do a lot. It can double intimidate a mon, knocking damage from things like Terrakion down to under 50% damage on a neutral hit.

Especially from a Terrakion, where the damage output is normally extremely high, this means a lot. However, with this comes the loss of something like Huge Power or Defiant, both of which could be abilities with the design. Huge Power on this thing would be broken, of course, with the sky high attack stat, but it could fit with the design. As for Defiant, that would’ve also been interesting thing to see with the bulldog that looks so angry at everything, I’m surprised it didn’t get it naturally.
