Editorial Reviews
Triple vinyl LP pressing. 2017 live release from the icons of British heavy metal. The Book Of Souls World Tour began it's two year, round-the-world odyssey in February 2016 in Flor-ida. The band played 117 shows to well over two million fans in 36 countries, across six of the seven continents travelling well over 100,000 miles. The Book Of Souls was Maiden's first ever double studio album and their most successful chart-wise to date, debuting at the #1 spot in over 40 countries around the world and #4 in the U.S.A. Despite little radio or television support, Iron Maiden is considered one of the most successful heavy metal bands in history, with The Sunday Times reporting in 2017 that the band has sold over 100 million copies of their albums worldwide.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2017Packaging is better than it should be. A thick cardboard sleeve with an opening on the side holds the "BOOK of Souls" and 2 CDs. The book has glossy card stock pages in full color. The book is approx. 30 pages and mainly concert photographs. Other things include: a breakdown of the 2016-17 tour dates/locations; a preface by Iron Maiden's tour manager, Ron Smallwood; misc. credit. Then there is the meat and potatoes: the two CDs. Each song is from a different tour location:

For $13.99, this is an outstanding value. I attended this tour on June 21, 2017 with my daughter in Houston, Texas. I believe that the set list was the same and it sounded every bit as spectacular on the disks as it did live. Love these guys! Up with Irons!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2018THat's what I finally got from IRON MAIDEN. The live sound that has been anticipated for a long time.
Everybody would agree with me that Iron Maiden turned from pure heavy metal into progressive way back in the early 90's. And they still do the same. For more than 25 years they have been playing samely from album to album and I don't even hope to hear something like THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST or SOMEWHERE IN TIME or the like. But nevertheless I collect their albums and everytime I get new one I can find something special in it.
THis live sonds metallic a bit raw and heavy, so very close to original. When listening loud I have a feeling of presense in the concert. THat is the point of live recording I believe. Every song is at its place and is done outrageously. The exeption is "Waisted Years" that is played like "The Iron Maiden" especially drumming (Nicko might missed up smth.). The whole impression of the 3LP album is perfect. I am happy to have this music in a nicely done covering. Recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2018As many fellow irons have already stated this live album is a must have. If you saw their 2016/17 tour you must have this it will take you right back to the stage. If you missed the tour you MUST have this live album. The live recordings off the new album tracks are outstanding played live and the throw back tracks have some serious power. Wrathchild sounds as good as it ever has. This live album has the energy and feel of watching them play live with that same full sound you expect in their studio releases.
The only negative (which isn't really one for me personally) being that the older songs on this live album are nothing apart from the staples of all their live releases however this has a very good mix of new and beloved. Seriously if you are a Maiden fan there is no sense skipping this one.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 20, 2017This is a great live album. For my money, the best live Maiden albums are the ones that are one full show. This one is the concert set list patched together from different shows, much like Flight 666. The transitions are great and the sound quality for each song doesn't change. This sounds like a full live show. The CD plays exactly like it did attending the concert. Very crisp and clear throughout. Do you need another version of The Trooper or Number of the Beast? Probably not, but this album mixes in some great new songs and varied set list from the norm, such as ending with Wasted Years. I recommend picking this up. It's an outstanding live show and worthy of the great Maiden live albums of the past.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 20, 2017I agree with another poster....the “live” versions of the BOS tunes are the definitive version.
I bought both the deluxe edition cd set and the vinyl package. For my favorite bands & releases I’m most looking forward to, I often buy a cd set + vinyl.
I get the Vinyl for better sound & the CDs for convenience....either on the go or when I don’t feel like flipping records.
I’ve yet to clean & play the vinyl. The reason? The CDs sound really good. Much more midrange clarity, nice bass & crankable. Way better production than the studio version. Assuming the soundstage will be wider- at least - with the vinyl, that should sound spectacular.
Great setlist, great packaging, well recorded, well mixed.
This release is a homerun.

5.0 out of 5 stars 数あるMAIDENのライブ盤の中でも
"THE BOOK OF SOULS"と過去の代表曲の配置が素晴らしい。
パッケージはデラックスエディションで買ってますが、正直、有難迷惑なのが珠にキズっス。スティーブごめん。
