What I liked is the unit can be powered by usb port, solar cell located in the top of the unit, internal lithium battery, and AA batteries. I also liked the durable feel of the case. NOAA weather radio fidelity is acceptable to good with a little finesse with the antenna. The ex alert works well. The AM and FM bands are very good. What I do not like but I can mitigate it, is the fidelity of the weather band. Midland can only do so much with it. It does take a little work determining the best angle and direction of the antenna. But the durability, antenna quality/flexibility, and the cost offset and can mitigate the static inherent in this band.

There's a lot to like -- and it does what it promises
• It is easy to program and operate.• It pulls in nearby AM and FM stations easily, and the sound quality is good.• As with just about any weather radio, the weather audio is a bit static-y, but this one is better than most.• You can enable the "weather alert" feature, so that even when the radio is completely turned off, you'll receive an alert if one is broadcast for your area. Beware, the siren sound and flashing light are really loud and bright. Also, know that the NOAA conducts a test every Wednesday at 11:00 AM.• I really like that I can charge the replaceable 18650 battery via micro USB, solar, and hand-crank.• That it can run on the 18650 (included) _or_ six AAs (not included) is a real plus.• There's a USB-A port for charging cell phones, etc.• There's a convenient 1/8" headphone jack.• The flashlight toggles from medium to *bright* to S-O-S, and is quite bright.• It includes an ultrasonic dog whistle - for helping rescue dogs to find you more easily.• And the overall construction and build quality is top notch.I recommend this to anyone wanting to be prepared.
